Solar Tax Credit

The extended 30% Solar Investment Tax Credit has been great news for homeowners in Ave Maria, FL who will receive a tax break through 2032.

The next few years are also looking promising with an average of 26%, rather than 22%. But it won’t last forever- after 2025 there’ll only be 18 percent available before disappearing completely starting around 2030!

How does a tax credit work?
A great way to save on your taxes is by installing solar panels. This will allow you the ability of washing away that liability with one simple phone call! For example, if this year’s return includes $20k spent on an 6KW system and we’re able use those credits against next years’ income instead where our savings would amount up at 60%.

Solar Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does solar power help the environment?
Most of today’s electricity is produced by steam turbines using fossil fuels. These fossil fuels are non-renewable and create gas emissions that can harm the environment. By switching to solar, you are effectively reducing the amount of fossil fuel that needs to be consumed to support your power needs.
What is net metering?
Net metering allows you to sell any excess electricity that your system produces back to the power company. In exchange for the energy you will receive a credit which allows you to buy back electricity at a later time.
What is a solar array?
A solar array is a system of connected solar panels that are used to capture and convert sunlight into electricity. Solar arrays can be used for a variety of applications, including powering homes and businesses, providing backup power during power outages, and generating electricity for electric vehicles.
Will my solar array need maintenance?
Solar arrays require very little maintenance. You may occasionally need to clean the panels if they are covered in dust or dirt, but that is typically all that is required. If you have a problem with your solar array, you can contact your installer or the manufacturer for assistance.
What types of house roofs can support solar?
Most home roofs can support solar panels, but there are a few things to consider before installing them. The first is the pitch, or slope, of the roof. Solar panels need to be installed at a certain angle to maximize their efficiency, so a steeper roof is better. The second is the direction that the roof faces. For example, a south-facing roof will get more sun than a north-facing roof, and is therefore better for solar panels. The third is the amount of shading that the roof gets from trees or other buildings. A shaded roof will not produce as much power as a sunny one. Finally, it’s important to make sure that the roof is strong enough to support the weight of the solar panels. Most roofs can easily handle the weight, but it’s always a good idea to check with a professional before installing anything.
What will solar do to the value of my house?
The value of your house will likely increase if you install solar panels. A recent study published on Palmetto.com found that homes with solar panels sold for an average of 4.1% more than comparable non-solar homes. Additionally, homes with solar panels stay on the market for 13.3% less time and are 27.4% more likely to sell for over asking price. Solar panels can thus not only save you money on your energy bills, but also increase the value of your home.
If the grid goes down, will my solar system continue to work?
No, your solar system is dependent on electrical power to run. If you want to ensure that you have electrical power in times of crisis, you will need to invest in a battery backup system. With a battery backup system in place, you will have power even if the grid goes down.
Can I install solar now and add a battery backup system later?
Yes. A battery backup system can be added to your solar array any time you wish. However, there may be economic incentives for doing it all at the same time.
